Job Description:
RVCC is currently seeking an Assistant Baseball Coach to assist the Head Baseball Coach in all aspects of coaching duties of the RVCC DII Men's Baseball program that operates under the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) rules and regulations.
Duties include but not limited to assisting the head coach in recruiting potential players. Assist with organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition. Lead and guide student-athletes in the area of baseball. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Three (3) years of previous coaching experience and coaching experience at the collegiate level highly desired. Knowledge of NJCAA regulations and guidelines governing recruitment and retention of student athletes is required.
Knowledge of athletic recruitment, methods and techniques is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Ability to speak effectively to employees/staff and community organizations.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include early afternoon, evening and weekend assignments. Ability to travel during the afternoon, overnight and/or multi-day stays.
Must be available to attend spring training trip (1st or 2nd week in March) Must posses valid driver's license with clean record.
