JOB POSITION: Assistant Director of Athletics: 6-06-2 Admin - Athletics TYPE: Full Time
The Assistant Director of Athletics is a full-time Administrator in the Department of Athletics and is responsible for overseeing and directing athletic compliance activity, and ensuring that all athletic programs and activities (including, but not limited to, initial and continuing eligibility, recruitment, admissions financial aid, housing and ethical conduct) are in compliance with NCAA rules. This is accomplished through rules education, continuing eligibility certification and legislative reviews, and continued monitoring of NCAA certification. Will submit all waiver requests.
The Assistant Director will work closely with the Office of Academic Advisement to coordinate appropriate academic advising and counseling. In this role, the AD will work with and support the Head Coaches in the creation and maintenance of an environment conducive to both academic and competitive success.
The Assistant Director will coordinate Recruitment activities for the department and serve as liaison to the Admissions Office. In this role he or she will inform coaches of recruiting events and opportunities and off campus, coordinate mailings, and assist in the maintenance of communication between prospective students and athletics staff members.
The Assistant Director will direct intramural functions, programs and staff in intramural recreation programs; analyze and evaluate program effectiveness, develop and modify programs as necessary to provide quality recreation services and promote maximum participation.
The Assistant Director will also serve as Head Coach for a major sport.

Requirements: Requirements: BA minimum; masters preferred in sports management or higher education. Ideal candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational abilities and computer proficiency. |
